My Story
I was born into a Christian home and can honestly say that I don’t remember a time in my life when I didn’t know about and love Jesus. I thank my dad and mom, who are both members of The Trails themselves, for all of the ways that they taught me the gospel and pointed me to Christ. I’m not sure when the Lord saved me (I intend to ask Him in Heaven!) but I repented of my sins as a young boy and believe that I was converted as a child. Since then, I have seen innumerable evidences of the Lord’s grace in my life—it is only by His loving faithfulness that I have persevered as a believer.
Growing up, my family was musical, and I started playing guitar in middle school. During my time as an Army officer, I had the opportunity to serve on the music team at a church plant in Killeen, TX and I fell in love with leading the Lord’s people in singing in corporate worship. It is one of the sweetest joys of my life getting to lead the people of The Trails in singing each week.
My wife, Megan, loves serving in Trails Kids, and we have two small children. As a family we enjoy spending time with our families that live close by, singing together, and watching OU football in the fall! Currently, I am pursuing a Master of Arts in Worship Leadership from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY.
My Hope for The Trails
My hope for the Trails is that we will be a people whose worship of the Lord in private is as sincere and joyful as it is on Sunday mornings. That we will commit ourselves to studying the word, living out the word, and helping others to know the word as we make disciples of Christ. I hope that our lives will be marked by the fruit of the Spirit, showing evidence of the Lord’s work of sanctification among us. Finally, I pray that The Trails would be a place of gospel revival in the years to come—that the Lord would do a supernatural work of transformation from death in sin to life in Christ for many in North Texas, all for His glory.
