My Story
I am a proud native Texan who grew up in Plano. I was raised in church and baptized at the age of 8. Although I knew the gospel, I didn’t follow the Lord until my early 20s. The Holy Spirit prompted me many times throughout college, but I was a stubborn sinner who didn’t want to follow my Savior.
I attended Texas A&M University and received a degree in education. I went on to teach elementary school for 7 years in Frisco. While teaching, I met my husband, Kelly. We were both walking similar paths and attended church together as friends. As our relationship grew with each other, so did our love for the Lord. He pursued both of us and we were obedient to His call.
After our daughter, Kate, was born, I stepped down from teaching to focus on being a mom. Two and half years later our son, Blake, was born. As educators, Kelly and I both wanted to continue using our gifts to serve the church. When Kate was a baby, we began serving in the children’s ministry at our church and have continued to serve together in both children’s and youth ministries ever since. In 2016, Kelly’s job sent us to Omaha, Nebraska where I became the coordinator of Coram Deo Kids, the children’s ministry at our church. When we moved back to Texas, we knew we wanted to jump back into serving, so in 2020, Kelly and I began serving as ministry leaders for Trails 56.
The Lord gave me a passion to love and serve children and students by sharing the gospel, showing how to be a disciple of Jesus, and ultimately welcoming new sisters and brothers in Christ. It is a joy to serve our students every week!
When I am not serving the church, I enjoy spending time with Kelly, Kate, and Blake. I am such a proud mom and wife and thank the Lord every day for those roles. I love family history so in my spare time I enjoy researching genealogy for family and friends.
My Hope for The Trails
My hope for the Trails Church is that we would be a welcoming people rooted in the Word of God who love the Lord and love others.
