MY STORY

I was saved at the age of ten during Vacation Bible School in the little country church my family attended in rural Oklahoma. I have served the church in various capacities since my youth. Proverbs 16:9 says, “The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps.” I have seen this truth played out in so many ways in my life and I am incredibly thankful for the Lord’s lovingkindness in guiding my steps and, at times, overriding my plans for my good.

One of my life’s goals was to be able to retire early from the corporate world and use my gifts and abilities for ministry of some sort. I had no idea what this would be, but the Lord did. He providentially directed my steps towards missions through a short-term mission trip to Haiti in 2013. This trip changed the course of my life. I was deeply moved by the great physical and spiritual poverty of the people of Haiti. For the past ten years, I have served with a non-profit whose mission is to bring help and hope through the transformational power of the gospel to individuals and communities in difficult places. I see it as a further kindness of the Lord to allow me to serve as Deacon of Missions at The Trails.

MY HOPE FOR THE TRAILS

My hope for The Trails Church is that we will be a body of believers who regularly engage in praying, giving, equipping, and serving to make disciples so that God will be glorified by some from every nation.
