My Story
Growing up as a military brat, I moved frequently, living in six states and Germany by second grade. For someone who is naturally shy, each move was very hard on me. At age eleven, my family settled in Killeen, Texas, where I later met my future husband, Nathan, in high school.
I didn't grow up in a church-going home and, while I'd heard about Jesus as a child, I didn’t know Him personally. As a teenager, I struggled with authority and lived rebelliously, continuing in worldliness into my early twenties. Eventually, the guilt, shame, and weight of sin became so heavy that I reached a point where I couldn’t even pray.
Years later, after marrying my high school crush and starting a family, the Lord began softening my heart. When my daughter was born, I realized I wanted my children to know Him in a way that I never did. Soon after, I joined a women’s Bible study on the book of Mark. The Lord used those sweet ladies in class to pour into me, and it was as if I was seeing the Lord for the very first time. There was so much I didn’t know, but that is when the scales fell from my eyes and my life was completely changed. My heart was set on fire to know and serve Him. Looking back, I see it as nothing less than a miracle of His grace.
Nathan and I married in 2002 and moved to Prosper in 2012. Before becoming a full-time mom, I worked various administrative roles in the corporate world, but no job brought me more joy than raising our three amazing children. Over the years, I’ve loved serving in different church ministries, being active in the PTA, and helping out as an elementary school room mom. In my spare time, you’ll usually find me with a good book in hand (ideally at the beach, my happy place).
My Hope for The Trails
I’m incredibly humbled and honored to serve on staff at The Trails Church and thankful to the Lord for this opportunity. My hope for the Trails is that we will be a light to our surrounding communities for those who are lost and a place for our neighbors to grow in their love and pursuit of the Lord.
